Sales Pitch Conversion Rate

Cold calls are very challenging but can become more productive over time if you pay attention to your customers reaction to your pitch. As we mentioned in earlier posts the pitch is the most important part of your cold call sales presentation because it will get you a hearing or the dreaded hang up.

As we mentioned in an earlier post, after doing your preliminary marketing research it is time to put together a sales presentation. You should more spend more time initially into creating an attention grabbing pitch.

Anticipate interview questions, objections, and of course a few good sales closes in advance. However pay attention to the responses you get from sales prospects and refine your pitch accordingly.

For instance if you notice that for every ten (10) cold calls you are making that only one (1) is listening to you and nine (9) are hanging up on you, obviously you need a stronger sales pitch. Especially if they try to get you off the phone within the first twenty (20) seconds without raising objections -- you know you need a stronger pitch.

If your initial sales pitch is getting low sales conversion rate opportunities modify it some what to stress more customer benefits. "Hello Mr. Michaels I wanted to share an opportunity to help expand your business by 35% in the next few months like many of my other clients" might be a good lead pitch.

In our next post we will explore some ways that you can modify your sales pitch to get a better response. You will learn how to develop better listening skills.
